Our Christmas Miracle!!!

OK, there's no delicate way to post this, so I'm going to be pretty direct with this topic. :)

The only new things that we have done since September are: changed Alec's homeopathic remedy to one that addresses his anxiety and mood -- and a few weeks ago, did a sample session of Neurofeedback (Check it out: www.syracuseneurofeedback.com).

Some really cool things have been happening with Alec's language, but the biggest change: he is potty trained, with poop! He's not quite understanding how to hold his bladder throughout the day, but that will come with practice. However...seemingly out of nowhere, Alec decided that poop belongs in the potty! And just in time for his 5th birthday next month! We are SO happy about this, and calling it the "Christmas Miracle"!

The coolest thing happened tonight. We are down to 1 car now, and pick Daddy up at work around 7:30 when I've kept the car. So, earlier tonight we were in the car at Daddy's work, and Alec tells me that he has to go potty. Instead of panicking, something told me to try and talk to him about it, even if he may not understand me. I explained that Daddy was almost ready to get in the car, and once we got home we'd go straight to the potty. He replied, "holding poopy...tummy hurts" but in a very calm voice. I kept talking to him about it and assured him that he would get a VERY big treat for waiting until we got home. Well, we just about fainted when we got home, his pull-up was clean, and he pooped in the potty! This is one of my proudest mommy moments EVER! SO proud of our little guy! :) :) :)
