Breakthrough!

About a week before Mother's Day, Alec had a major breakthrough with language. On a consistent basis -- at least once a day, he would hug me and say "I love you, mommy!". His speech therapist was working with him using pictures of immediate family. This helped him to make the connection between showing affection (hug) and expressing it with language.

Now I hear this every day. We're working on him saying it to daddy and sister.
